FINISHES

Note how well FLEXICRETE samples
with exposed river gravel aggregate and slate finishes, fit into
the natural river environment.

Here are just two up-close examples of the many finishes we offer. |

This is an example of a slate finish in a natural environment.

"There are times, when there is heavy storm water flow, serious erosion occurs to river and channel
embankments and fish habitat is destroyed. It is at these times that a 'hard' solution, which controls
erosion and protects the fish habitat, is required. In this respect FLEXICRETE is very accommodating.
Solutions which prevent erosion and, at the same time, save the fish habitat, are possible.
Individual blocks can be removed without affecting the overall continuity of the protection.
Holes in the blocks can be provided. Vegetation can grow through the joints and holes.
Trees can be planted. For a natural look, the finish on the surface of the FLEXICRETE blocks can
be an environmentally friendly exposed river gravel or slate finish,
(see photographs of samples on this page). Other finishes, all of which have been freeze-thaw tested,
are available. Stones from 2" to 4" can be embedded in the blocks to provide a 'Rip Rap' appearance.
Contact Don McCallum P.Eng. for a solution to your erosion problem. A preliminary feasibility study would be provided
without commitment, obligation or charge."
